Center for Neighborhood Leadership (CNL) – Training grassroots residents for community careers and effective leadership: ANHD’s Center for Neighborhood Leadership (CNL) selects ten unemployed adults each year from low-income neighborhoods to train for grassroots non-profit careers. Each trainee is placed in a nine-month internship in at a community non-profit, and receives weekly training with support services. Now starting its fifth year, CNL has a 90% success rate in graduating to post-secondary education and/or permanent employment. In 2013/14, ANHD’s Center for Neighborhood Leadership (CNL) will be sponsoring a minimum of 10 AmeriCorps apprentices in partnership with Public Allies New York and will be selecting a minimum of 10 non-profit sites to receive an apprentice.

All applications – for Americorps Apprenticeships and for Host Organizations must be submitted through Public Allies. Please clearly note “CNL” on your application and also email Hector.S@anhd.org to alert ANHD about your application.
