2012 Nominations for Housing

ANHD Housing Development of the Year 2012 Nomination Form

The Association for Neighborhood and Housing Development (ANHD) is seeking nominations for its 2012 Housing Development of the Year Award. The purpose of this award is to recognize an innovative and impactful affordable housing development which has had a significant community benefit, and has been carried out by the local groups that make up the NYC neighborhood-based housing movement. You are encouraged to nominate your organization, a subsidiary of your organization, or a partnership involving your organization.

NOMINATIONS CRITERIA: Please nominate a housing development with a majority of its residential units low-income (defined as 80% of median income or below) or supportive housing that has reached permanent financing closing between Jan. 1st 2010 and Dec. 31st, 2011. This nomination may be for a new construction, rehabilitation, or preservation project. This development must be majority owned by an ANHD member neighborhood-based not-for-profit, or wholly owned and controlled by a subsidiary. The not-for-profit must also have substantial involvement and control throughout the development process.

NOMINATIONS PROCESS: Complete this nomination form, including a typed narrative (500 words or less) explaining why you are nominating this residence. Please include descriptions of special features that make your residence unique, and attach at least two electronic photos of the residence to your reply email as well as any renderings, plans, photographs, or other material as you see fit.

JUDGING: The Judging Committee will review based on the following criteria:

1) Responsiveness to local need, including maximum community benefit and permanent affordability.

2) Demonstration of particular strengths or innovations that highlight the capacity of the neighborhood-based not-for-profit development sector.
